The Pokémon GO Spark event is bringing one of the most exploration-heavy weeks Pokémon GO has had in a while, with boosted Egg hatches, Dratini spawns, hatch distance bonuses, and a surprisingly strong lineup of rewards tied to the new GO Pass system.
Running from Tuesday, June 2, at 10:00 a.m. until Monday, June 8, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time, the Pokémon GO Spark event focuses entirely around walking, hatching Eggs, and discovering Pokémon through exploration gameplay.
Which, in true Spark fashion, basically translates to “walk absolutely everywhere and hatch absolutely everything.”
Honestly, this feels like one of those events where players will accidentally end up grinding for hours without even realising it.
Pokémon GO Spark Event Wild Encounters
During the Pokémon GO Spark event, the following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild:
- Bulbasaur
- Alolan Raichu
- Drowzee
- Jolteon
- Dratini
- Houndour
- Lileep
- Combee
There are some genuinely solid spawns hidden inside this lineup.
Dratini immediately stands out because Dragonite continues to be useful in both raids and PvP, while shiny Dratini remains one of the most recognisable shiny Pokémon in the entire game. Houndour and Lileep are also great shiny hunting targets, especially for players who missed previous featured events.
Alolan Raichu appearing in the wild is also a pretty nice bonus because it instantly makes the event feel less repetitive than standard seasonal spawn rotations.
The overall spawn pool feels very “Spark” too. It is random, energetic, slightly chaotic, but actually surprisingly rewarding if you stick with it.
Pokémon GO Spark Event 7 km Egg Hatches
The biggest feature of the Pokémon GO Spark event is definitely the 7 km Egg pool.
The following Pokémon can hatch during the event:
- Pichu
- Elekid
- Shinx
- Varoom
- Galarian Corsola
- Hisuian Qwilfish
Honestly, this is one of the better event Egg pools Pokémon GO has released recently.
Galarian Corsola alone is likely going to make this event popular with collectors, while Elekid fits perfectly with the Team Instinct theme running throughout the week.
Varoom also continues to feel strangely rare despite being available for a while now, meaning many players still need both candy and stronger IV versions.
This feels like an event where incubators are either going to become your best friend or completely destroy your item storage planning for a week.
Pokémon GO Spark Event GO Pass Rewards
Like the Blanche event before it, the Pokémon GO Spark event includes both a free GO Pass and a premium GO Pass Deluxe upgrade.
By collecting GO Points throughout the week, players can unlock rewards including:
- Elekid wearing a Spark-themed accessory
- Additional Elekid encounters
- Super Incubators
- Increased Hatch Candy
- Half Hatch Distance bonuses
The GO Pass Deluxe version also offers additional rewards and faster progression.
One of the biggest bonuses arrives at Rank 10, where players unlock 1/2 Hatch Distance. That alone is enough to massively improve the value of this event, especially for players planning long walking sessions or heavy Egg grinding.
At Rank 20, players unlock increased Hatch Candy, while Deluxe users can also receive boosted Hatch Stardust bonuses.
Honestly, the progression rewards here feel much stronger than many players probably expected.
Why the Pokémon GO Spark Event Could Be Better Than Expected
At first glance, the Pokémon GO Spark event might look like a fairly standard hatch-focused event.
But once you actually break down the bonuses, it starts looking much stronger.
Half hatch distance, strong Egg hatches, Dratini spawns, bonus Stardust opportunities, and increased hatch rewards all combine into the sort of event that quietly becomes extremely valuable over time.
This is especially true for active players who regularly walk long distances anyway. If you already play Pokémon GO while walking daily, this event could end up feeling incredibly rewarding.
It also arrives at a good point in the schedule, sitting right between the calmer Blanche event and the much more aggressive battle-focused Candela event.
Is the Pokémon GO Spark Event Worth Playing?
Honestly, yes.
Out of the three Team Leader events, the Pokémon GO Spark event probably feels the most rewarding for everyday gameplay. You do not necessarily need to focus heavily on raids or PvP to benefit from it either.
Simply walking, hatching Eggs, and casually grinding throughout the week could lead to:
- Strong candy gains
- Extra Stardust
- Rare hatch opportunities
- Useful shiny checks
- GO Pass progression rewards
And realistically, events that reward players just for actively playing the game tend to end up being the most enjoyable ones overall.
